The secretary of the national operational headquarters, associate professor Dimo Dimov, presented the current data regarding the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
For the last day 1126 samples were analyzed, a total of 57 231, which refers to 1 million of the population is 8175.
They are established 44 newly infected cases, of which 11 are hospitalized, activity has been observed in 11 districts. The total number of laboratory confirmed cases of the coronavirus infection in the country was 1955.
15 of the newly infected are in Blagoevgrad, 7 in Sofia – 7 in “Pirogov”, two in MMA, one in “Santa Ana” and three outpatients, in Pazardzhik there are 5 new cases, in Vidin – 4, in Kyustendil – also 4, in Yambol – 3, in Pleven – 2, in Vratsa, Kardzhali, Montana and Sliven – one each.
The increased activity observed in Blagoevgrad is due to outbreak of infection established in a village in the municipality of Satovcha. The RHI has taken all epidemic measures and the contact persons for the first case have been established.
Of 3 new cases were recorded in infected medical personnel – one for a doctor and two for a nurse. They are at Pirogov and at the Pazardzhik hospital.
The number of cured is 444. There are 22 new ones: 5 in the Military Medical Academy, 3 in Pirogov, 11 in outpatient cases in the Sofia district, 2 in Kyustendil and 1 in Sliven.
There is 5 cases of recently established children in the last 24 hours. They are between 1 and 18 years old. There are 4 of them in Blagoevgrad, 1 in Yambol. The boy in Yambol is a year and a half old and comes from a neighborhood in the city with an outbreak of infection.
The total death toll is 90. There are two new cases: a 66-year-old man with cancer who died in “Pirogov” had two negative PCRs and on May 4 the coronavirus test with PCR was positive and as a result of developed acute respiratory failure he died The second case is from an 80-year-old man in the hospital “Alexandrovska”, he had a series of concomitant diseases.
For the moment there are 389 patients in hospitals, of which 56 are in intensive care units.
