A 30-second coronavirus test developed by India and Israel will be ready in a few days, Israeli Ambassador to India Ron Malka told India’s PTI news agency. According to him, all the stages have already been passed.
According to Malka, the test is cheap to perform, as the results are known on the spot, without the cost of sending the sample to a lab.
According to him, a rapid test kit will be manufactured in India.
Israel sent a high-level delegation from the country’s Defense Research and Development Directorate (DDRD) to India in July to develop new and rapid tests for coronavirus in collaboration with their Indian counterparts while treating Indian coronavirus patients.
The group focuses on four technologies.
The tests were carried out on a large number of samples in India. According to Malka, each test went through different stages of evaluation.
“What I hear from participants in the process is that it should take no more than two to three weeks to finalize a reliable and accurate technology or a combination of more than one of the four different technologies being analyzed,” he said. him, quoted by BGNES.
He said the new rapid test was “a shining example of how fruitful scientific and technological cooperation between Israel and India can be.”
Last week, Israel began using the approved Sofia coronavirus test, which is performed only on respiratory samples collected from people suspected of having coronavirus. This innovative technology delivers results in 15 minutes.
