There are five new cases of infected medical personnel.
26 are the new cases of coronavirus infection for the day in our country. There are five children between the ages of 6 and 17 with proven COVID-19: three in Sofia and one in Blagoevgrad, Vidin and Razgrad. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Association of Operating Personnel Prof. Dimo Dimov at the regular briefing on Monday. The total number of infected people in Bulgaria is 1981.
During the last 24 hours, 403 samples were analyzed. So far, their total number is 57,634.
Testing continues at the nursing home in Blagoevgrad
There are 385 patients with confirmed COVID-19 in Bulgaria who are treated in hospital. 58 of them are in intensive care units. Nine of the newly infected are housed in medical institutions.
Associate Professor Dimov noted that activity has been observed in six areas. Positive samples for the day are in Sofia – 16, Pleven – 3, Razgrad – 3 cases, Blagoevgrad – 2, Pazardzhik and Vidin – 1 each.
There are a total of 214 infected medical personnel. “There are five new cases. They belong to two doctors, a nurse, a paramedic and a technician,” said the secretary of the National Operations Headquarters. There are already 461 cases cured and 17 new cases of those who have overcome the infection.
A 72-year-old man died of concomitant diseases. “The person in question is from Great Britain, but he is the husband of a Bulgarian citizen,” added Dimov.
He specified that in the period between April 20 and 26, the new cases were 433. In the next week, from April 27 to May 3, there were 284. From May 4 to 10, the positive samples verified were 349. However, the number of cured patients increased during these weeks. .
