The highest number of registered cases is in Sofia: 393, more than a third of the total number, followed by Plovdiv: 76 and Varna: 58.
7 people have died in the last 24 hours. 130 were cured.
On Sunday morning, traditionally, the number of tests performed, respectively positive for COVID-19, is lower. Yet there are tensions in the healthcare system: hospitals across the country are suffocating from a shortage of doctors and free beds. Such is the case of the emergence of the capital “St. Anna”. Here’s what head of resuscitation, associate professor Maria Atanasova for NOVA shared.
“Personally, I am tired, I cannot say that I am tired, because if all the doctors come close to this, there is no one to work for. The situation is really very serious, I sincerely hope that we endure, but we are on the edge of our capabilities and strengths. In our hospital we cannot stop trauma and other emergencies, because patients require special care and separate personnel, “says Atanasova.
He adds that the staff is also on the brink of strength.
“So we have not been without such a sick person since March. In 5 intensive beds there are currently 8 patients, the staff is on the verge of strength, the team has 4 positive people who require changes in the schedule, shifts, way of working ”Said Associate Professor Atanasova.
