Christensen brought his concerns to Lincoln City Council earlier this week, urging the committee to condemn the use of the word “bones without wings” in both “our menus and our hearts” – and instead suggest a more accurate name, “buffalo-style” chicken tender. ” “Sauce nugs” or “garbage”, as he puts it.
“Lincoln has the opportunity to be a community leader in this county,” Christensen said. “We accidentally ignore the problem that has come under control that our children are throwing around names and words even without understanding their true meaning.”
He also argued that “boneless wings” do not come from chicken wings, so calling a menu item “wing” is like a butcher selling a cut of meat under a false name.
