In early April, the Buckeyes and Daleville (Va.) Lord Botetourt were attacked offensively Gunner Givens to speak. At the time, Givens was talking to Ohio State graduate assistant offensive line coach Kennedy Cook. Official line coach of Ohio State Greg Studrawa followed up and spoke with Givens not long after Cook and Givens spoke, although Givens left no supportive offer from the Buckeyes on the call.
Since then, Givens has continued to add listings including one from Clemson on June 1st. But even though the Buckeyes hadn’t offered up at that point, Givens ’interest in Ohio State has not been destroyed.
“Sure, I love OSU and what they do,” Givens told Bucknuts in June.
Now the school Givens is talking about lovingly “what they do” has offered him. Givens posted Ohio State’s offer on his Twitter account this afternoon.
“Beyond blissful to receive an offer from Ohio State University,” Givens posted on Twitter.
Givens had spoken to Studrawa ahead of the offer today.
“He looks like a straight man who would not suffer for you,” Givens said. “That’s a big thing I look for in coaches.”
Givens has bonds in Ohio – family 10 minutes from Miamisburg, Ohio.
The 6-foot-6 and 275-pound Givens has a list of well over 40 scholarship offers that include Ohio State Clemson, Alabama, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State and Maryland.
Givens is a 5-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the total 1922 perspective of the country, the offensive approach no. 2, and the no. 1 prospectus in Virginia.
The Buckeyes have a great start to their 2022 recruiting class with commitments from the No. 1 prospect in Ohio in outside linebacker Gabe Powers from Ohio, no. 3-prospect in the state of Ohio in cornerback Jyaire Brown, Ohio’s No. 4 class of 2022 prospect in linebacker CJHicks, and Ohio’s no. 5th class from 2022 perspective in offensive lineman Tegra Tshabola.

The Buckeyes also have a spectacular 2021 recruiting class that goes with 19 early promises.
