Bruce Arians, Tom Brady says he knew he was fourth down

If Tom Brady hadn’t known he was fourth on an incomplete pass from Cameron Brett on Thursday night, neither he nor head coach Bruce Arians would have been willing to say so.

Brady was asked after the game if he knew he was in fourth place when he tried to rip a pass into a well-covered Brett on the field.

“I knew we needed a piece and I was thinking about more yards and then, you know, just that, it was a bad execution. We had a great opportunity there. So, we didn’t just execute when we needed to, “Brady told reporters after the game.

“We’re just … you’re against the clock and I knew we had to get part so I should think more first instead of taking part in it.”

After the play, Brady did not immediately go to the bench and held four fingers in the air as if he thought someone would come down and come next.

Was not there.

Brady missed the first-10th and 10th for Mike Evans. Dandre Houston-Carson fired a shot to Rob Gronkowski’s hand for a four-yard check down Cashhawen on the third down before Brett was thrown in the fourth down.

Arians also said Brady knows what he’s down to.

“Yes, he knew. He knew, “Arians said.
