One of the three police officers involved in the March 2020 drug operation in Louisville, Queensland, was indicted on criminal charges Wednesday.
Bret Fischer Brett Hankison, who has been fired since June, was put at risk of three gouraks in the first degree, a grand jury in Jefferson County ruled Wednesday. Neither the grand jury nor the presiding judge elaborated on the allegations.
A warrant has been issued for Hankison’s arrest and the bond is being held on ની 15,000 in cash.
BONONNA TAYLOR’S FACILITY ON GRANE’S JULY DECISION: ‘Results-oriented and presentable’
No charges have been announced against the other two officers involved in the raid – Miles Cosgrove and Sergeant. Jonathan Mattingley, who was shot in the leg and operated on after a police operation, resulted in Taylor’s death.
Taylor, a 26-year-old black emergency medical worker, was charged on March 13, 194 days after he was shot six times by officers who entered his home using a knock-on warrant.
The investigation found that the bullets fired by Hankison went into a neighboring apartment while three residents were at home – a man, a pregnant woman and a child, Attorney General Daniel Cameron, told a news conference after the grand jury’s announcement. Hank Nickinson was not charged with Taylor’s death, but for endangering the lives of his neighbors.
Incredible potential before Louisville DDK down
Hankinson faces up to five years on three counts if convicted, Cameron said.
“The decision before the Office of the Special Prosecutor in this case was not to decide whether Mrs. Taylor’s loss of life was a tragedy. The answer was clear, ‘Yes,’ Kemer said.” I understand that Brenna Taylor’s death is part of the national story. But in this case the facts and evidence are different from the others …
“We don’t get justice if we just act on emotion or aggression,” Cameron said. “Mob justice is not justice. Justice sought through violence is not justice. It only seeks revenge.”
Despite running a knock-on warrant, Cameron’s office decided, based on interviews with neighbors, that officials had announced them before closing the door to the apartment apartment occupied by Taylor and her boyfriend, Kenneth Waker. Cameron said Mattingley and Cosgro were justified under Kentucky law after being fired by Waters and his office would not pursue criminal charges against them.
“Under Kentucky law, the use of force by Mattingley and Cosgro was justified in self-defense. This support prevents us from pursuing the criminal charges of Miss Br Bre Taylor’s death.

Vaker Kar was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, but local prosecutors later dismissed the charge. He told police he heard a loud noise but did not know who was coming into the house and firing in self-defense.
Cameron said FBI ballistics determine whether the fatal shot that killed Taylor was fired by Cosgrove.
Immediately after the announcement, people expressed frustration that the grand jury would not do much.
“Justice has not been done,” said Linda Sarsaur, of Butwot Freedom’s group, which is pushing for charges in the case. “Get up, get up. All over the country. Everywhere. Grow up for #Brano’s Taylor.”
Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., said she was “praying for Breno’s mother and family.” Because they knew and loved him before his name became a hashtag. ”
Attorney Ben Krump tweeted that the grand jury found Hankison guilty of endangering three Gauraksha in the first degree “The bullets that went into another apartment but nothing to kill Brona Taylor.” This is insulting and insulting! ”
Lorita Nita Baker, another attorney representing Taylor’s family, reacted to the decision to bring hankings against Hankison and challenged that there was enough evidence to bring false charges against the detective who obtained the rent, as well as other officers who carried out the allegations. .
“I can’t make sense of it in my head. Wanton’s risk in the neighboring apartment apartment is a risk for Brano. It was clearly unarmed – as indicated in Mattingley’s statement – although she was shot several times while she was already on the ground, “Baker wrote in a Facebook post. “Search warrant found with a lie … where is the lie charge?” There are also frightening dangers for another black family living upstairs for an apartment apartment. If there were enough facts to convict others of the unstable danger, there were enough facts to convict Breno of murder. “
Brinna Taylor shooting involved 1 police officer
Large crowds of protesters began marching outside the barricade zone set up by police around Jefferson Square Park, following a grand jury decision and blocking the intersection, but there was no initial confrontation with law enforcement. U-Hull vans were seen pulling with large sacks and other supplies for the protesters. Large placards contained messages calling for the abolition of the abolitionist police and the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The rant used to search Taylor’s home was linked to a suspect who did not live there, and no drugs were found inside. The Louisville Metro Council has since banned the use of knock-on and rent.
Hankison was fired from the Louisville Metro Police Department on June 23. Interim Lewisville Police Chief Robert Schroeder sent him a message saying the White officer violated the proceedings by showing “gross indifference to the value of human life” when he “disqualified and fired 10 rounds into Taylor’s apartment in March.”
Hankison, Mattingley, Cosgrove and Detective Joshua Janes, who sought the warrant, were reassigned administratively after the shooting. On Sept. 15, the city of Louisville filed a lawsuit against three officers brought in by Taylor’s mother, Temica Palmer, who agreed to pay her 12 12 million and bring police reform.

Protesters in Louisville and across the country have demanded justice for Taylor and other black people killed by police. The May 9 issue of the late 911 call by Taylor’s boyfriend marked the beginning of the days of protest in Louisville, which was inflamed by her shooting and the violent death of George Floyd while in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25.
African-American celebrities, including Oprah and Beyonc, have joined forces to demand that officials be charged.
