Brockermeyer twins commit to Alabama

A decade ago, Florida had Mike and Maurkice Pouncey.

Alabama will now have its own set of cufflinks along the offensive line.

Tommy and James Brockermeyer, two of the highest-ranked offensive linemen in the recruiting class of 2021, engaged with Crimson Tide Friday via Twitter.

It adds to what is shaping up to be a kind of elite offensive line for Tide.

Alabama had already landed a five-star offensive lineman at JC Latham. Now, another was added on Tommy Brockermeyer to accompany his four-star brother.

Tommy is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle and fifth-best overall player in the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. James is rated No. 1 center and 188th best overall player.

Led by top recruiters Karl Scott and Kyle Flood, Alabama was able to beat schools like Texas despite the brothers being from Fort Worth and some important family connections to the Longhorns program.

His father Blake, a former American offensive lineman, played in Texas. So did his grandfather. Also, his brother Luke is currently a linebacker for the Longhorns.

However, Tommy and James, who had LSU and Auburn as their other finalists, are now destined for Alabama, commitments that could be the start of a great next week for Tide from a recruiting standpoint.
