Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn revealed as curator of singer: Report

According to a new report, Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn has submitted Spears to gain more control over the assets of the “Toxic” singer.

Last week, Jamie Lynn, 29, who has been revealed as the curator of Britney’s estate since 2018, filed a lawsuit requesting that the assets in the pop star’s SJB Revocable Trust be transferred to one or more accounts at Fidelity Brokerage Service, with Jamie Lynn Spears acting as caregiver, according to legal documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

If the request is approved, Britney’s assets would be transferred to new accounts and a judge would have to approve its removal.

The outlet reports that the trust was established in 2004 by Britney Spears to benefit her children, Sean, 14, and Jayden, 13.

In 2018, an amendment proposed that in the event of the death of Britney Spear Jamie Lynn would control the trust.

“Britney trusts Jamie Lynn and knows she is extremely responsible and trustworthy,” a source close to Britney Spears told E! News. “It makes sense that she would be the curator.”

The younger sister has been loyal and protective of Britney Spears, the source said.

“There’s no doubt she always has Britney’s best interests at heart,” the source said. “They are Britney’s best friends and closest confidants. She’s the perfect person to make financial decisions if something should happen to Britney.”

Representatives for Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The submission makes no mention of how the move would play out at Britney’s Conservatory, which the singer recently asked was not only controlled by her father, Jamie. The conservatory has been extended until February 2021.

The Times reports that Britney’s father moved for the reappointment of lawyer Andrew M. Wallet as co-conservator and also claimed that the star was “substantially unable to manage his or her financial resources or resist fraud or under-influence.”

Wallet, who previously served as co-conservator from 2009 to 2019 when the court allowed him to act, agreed to re-act as co-conservator.

The conservatory has been in place since Britney’s public distribution since 2008, giving her father control over her life and finances for the majority of the conservatory’s existence.
