The “Stronger” singer introduced the SJB Revocable Trust in 2004 to protect her billionaire assets and establish her two children for her future. It was also established to “maintain and manage your material financial assets during your life and provide the distribution of those assets after your death,” according to The explosion, who was the first to report the news.

In May 2019, Lynne also requested special notice of all matters related to Britney’s guardianship, in which she has previously had no role.

“Britney’s mother always wanted to have a position in Britney’s conservatorship,” a source told ET at the time. “Her mother has tried at different points over the years to have something to say,” the source said.

In May of this year, Britney’s guardianship was extended at least until the end of the summer. According to court documents obtained by ET at the time, Judge Brenda Penny issued an order authorizing temporary conservative Jodi Montgomery to remain in the conservatorship of Spears until at least August 22, 2020.

According to the documents, the extension comes after the judge decided that a hearing on the matter could not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Spears’ father Jamie resigned as her guardian in September 2019. Jamie had previously requested the court to turn over the reins of the singer’s guardianship, citing ongoing health problems. A judge approved the request and named Montgomery, Spear’s long-standing care manager, as its new conservator.

Lynne was next to Britney in 2008 when she was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold. In 2010 Lynne opened up to ET about the heartbreaking night.

“With the hospital, that was the most horrible moment, because I felt so helpless … I am his mother,” she said. “It is a long journey and we still have many obstacles to go, you know, but we are resistant.”
