“I know what you want, but at the end of the day, what is the reality of that?”
Britney Spears’ brother Bryan Spears spoke about her famous brother’s conservatorship on Thursday.
During a guest appearance on the podcast, “How You DON’T Look on TV,” Bryan talked about how his father, Jamie Spears, took over Britney’s personal and financial affairs in 2008 after she was put under psychiatric evaluation. .
“She has been in this for quite some time,” Bryan explained. “Obviously it was necessary in the beginning. Now they have made some changes and all we can do is hope for the best.”
After almost 12 years, Britney is still legally under guardianship, but Bryan suggested that the “Toxic” singer might be looking to change the status.
“She always wanted to get out of it. It’s very frustrating to have it,” he continued. “Whether someone comes in peace to help or they come with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something must be frustrating. She has wanted to get out of it for a long time.”
Ending the guardianship would include Britney becoming self-sufficient, which Bryan said could be challenging since she “has been surrounded by a team of people since she was 15 years old.”
“So to what level does everyone go or what level does that reduce?” added. “I know what you want, but at the end of the day, what is the reality of that?”

Bryan also mentioned his father who left his conservative position in September 2019 due to ongoing health issues.
“Overall, he’s done the best he could because of the situation he put it in and we have to work together as a family to keep it going,” Bryan explained.
The conservatorship is reportedly led by Britney’s care manager, Jodi Montgomery.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported that Britney’s scheduled hearing on the legal status of her guardianship was rescheduled for August 22 after fans flooded Zoom’s call.
