The Brewers were one of the last teams in the league to make a public announcement, but we finally know who will report to Miller Park when summer camp (now with a logo and all) begins on July 4.
You may have noticed that the Brewers only announce that players are targeting what amounts to the major league camp, and not their entire group of 60 players. The organization may still name the rest of those players later (and we already know that one of those players will be Tyrone Taylor, after he was “optional” for the secondary team at Appleton over the weekend).
The 45 players at Miller Park camp more or less resemble the group that was still in the major league camp when spring training closed in mid-March. As Adam McCalvy points out, there are a handful of players on the list of 40 men who are not on the list.
According to my account, the Brewers dropped four players from the 40-man roster on the Summer Camp roster. They could be part of the next wave to be assigned to the alternate training site at Appleton: Corey Ray, Tyrone Taylor, Trey Supak, and Angel Perdomo.

Those players McCalvy mentioned appear to be 4 of the 15 players who have yet to be announced to complete the 60-man pool. Other spots could be filled by players not on the roster, including some of the best prospects, as David Stearns indicated last week.
Also interesting are the non-listed players who * are on the “big league field” 45-man roster: pitchers Zack Brown, Jake Faria, Shelby Miller, Mike Morin and Drew Rasmussen, the candidate for DH Logan Morrison, utility player Jace Peterson and outfielder Keon Broxton. Everyone has a chance to be on the expanded New Opening Day roster given the unique abilities they bring, and Craig Counsell’s plans to take 14-15 pitchers out of camp this season.
