TRUMP takes NFL, Nba to task over knees in national anthem
“I know I was in an NFL locker room for 20 years, despite race, background, money you grew up with, we were all brothers, it didn’t matter,” Favre told USA Today on Monday. ‘Guys came along great. Will that be the same (with knee scenario)? I do not know. If one chooses to stand for his cause and another man chooses to kneel for his cause, is one right and the other wrong? I do not believe that. We tend to be fixed on heights.
‘I do not know how it is black. It is not for me to say what is right and what is wrong. I know we should all be treated equally. If you can not do that, you should not be in America. ”
NFL TO KEEP LIVE NATIONAL ANTHEM PERFORMANCES OUTSIDE STAGE TO CORONAVIRUS FEARS
Favre said he felt the camaraderie with teammates in the locker room when there was a problem, but wondered if problems like kneeling during the national anthem could divide players. When New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said he would stand for the national anthem, he got a ton of backlog – even from his own teammates.
“There is no good answer,” the former quarterback told USA Today. ‘Otherwise, the right answer is that we all come together. It seems that the more people try, the more damage is done. ”
