John Calipari has apparently found his replacement for Kenny Payne.

Minutes after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news that Payne had officially accepted an offer from the New York Knicks, university basketball player Jon Rothstein reported that Indiana assistant Bruiser Flint was on his way to Kentucky.

Flint – John Calipari’s longtime friend and former UMass assistant – is in his fourth year at Indiana and has more than 30 years of coaching experience. The Philadelphia resident spent 20 years as Division I head coach and won 331 games while leading Drexel (2001-16) and UMass (1996-01). He was named Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year (2002, 2004, 2009 and 2012) and NABC District Coach of the Year (1998, 2007, 2009 and 2012) four times each.

Now the reporter is being brought to Lexington by veterans to join Tony Barbee, Joel Justus and John Robic on the Kentucky staff.
