Brad Pitt steps back on ex Angelina Jolie after submitting request to remove judge amid divorce

Brad Pitt’s police officers beat up his ex-wife Angelina Jolie’s attempt to dismiss Judge John W. Ouderkirk – a private judge – amid the couple’s ongoing divorce battle.

In legal documents obtained by People magazine, the actor’s 56-year-old accused his former partner of making a “transparent tactical gambit” to delay proceedings, and it will ultimately do the most harm to her children.

“Unfortunately, the individuals most harmed by Jolie’s transparent tactical gambit are the parties’ own children, who continue to escape a definitive resolution to these conservation issues,” it reads.

The legal documents described Jolie’s motion as “a thin-skinned attempt by Jolie to delay the adjudication of long-awaited custody issues in this case.”

Jolie, 45, originally filed paper Aug. 7 before Judge Ouderkirk to separate from the divorce case, claiming he was late and did not get enough about other cases he was hired to involve Pitt attorney Anne C. Kiley . According to People, Ouderkirk has 10 days to respond to the actress’ submission.

The submission said that during the Jolie-Pitt trial, Ouderkirk “failed to disclose the cases that demonstrate the current, ongoing, repeated client relationship between the judge and Respondent’s attorney.”

It goes on to say that Pitt’s lawyer “actively advocates for the financial interests of Judge Ouderkirk in moving – over the opposition party’s opposition – to extend his appointment (and his ability to remain compensated) in a high profile case. “

Meanwhile, Pitt’s team responded by saying Jolie was aware and “never objected” to Ouderkirk’s “ongoing involvement” until now.

According to the outlet, Ouderkirk presumably presides over Pitt and Jolie’s nuptials of 2014.

“It is unfortunate that Mr. Pitt’s team has attempted to intervene prior to Judge Ouderkirk’s response,” Jolie’s attorney, Samantha Bley DeJean, told people regarding the filing. “One can only conclude that this is an attempt to limit or influence Judge Ouderkirk’s response. Any delay in these proceedings is due to her zealous attempt to make a recognized special exception for the benefit of her client.”
