Boston doctor has severe allergic reaction to modern COVID-19 vaccine: report

The Boston-based doctor had a severe allergic reaction to the modern coronavirus vaccine, the first document of its kind, a report said Friday.

Geriatric oncologist Dr. Boston Medical Center. Hussein Sadrajadeh felt dizzy and felt his heart racing shortly after receiving the vaccine on Thursday, he told The New York Times.

“It was the same anaphylactic reaction I experience with shellfish,” said Dr. Sadrazadeh told the paper, his tongue became numb, his blood pressure slipped and he started sweating coldly.

“I don’t want anyone to go through that.”

According to the report, Sadrajadeh self-administered an epiphan in case of such a reaction, and was discharged after a brief examination in the emergency room.

Although few recipients of the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine have reported allergic reactions to that inoculation – including a New York City health care worker – Sadrazadeh’s symptoms are the first known reaction to the severity of her moderate shot.

Both of these vaccines, which contain the same ingredients, require two shots administered within a few weeks.

Neither Moderna nor the Federal Food and Drug Administration, which approved the vaccines, commented on the Times report.
