The Chiefs’ offense drew the most attention last year, but it was their defensive improvement that made them a Super Bowl winner. The team switched to 4-3 under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, spending a lot of money on Frank Clark and Tyrann Mathieu in the offseason. Those moves worked perfectly, and the team was also happy to re-sign star defensive tackle Chris Jones during the offseason. Stopping the race is still a problem for Kansas City, but they allowed the seventh least number of points in 2019 and returned all their best talents from last season.

Four of the five QBs on this list (Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Peyton Manning, and Cam Newton, who together represented seven MVP awards) were veterans when they won, while last year’s winner Lamar Jackson had the benefit of starting. eight games (including playoffs) in the season before being named MVP. Meanwhile, Mahomes ‘impressive 2018 was preceded by a lone rookie start in the last week of 2017. Mahomes’ sophomore pass numbers were even more impressive than Dan Marino’s historic sophomore campaign in Miami in 1984. While the Chiefs scored at least 26 points in each game, it’s a shame it has taken Kansas City another season to assemble a complementary defense capable of helping the explosive offense capture a Lombardi Trophy.

Ward is entering his third season with the Chiefs. Along with several other players in the Kansas City Chiefs’ Madden 21 rankings, he should definitely be given a little more appreciation.

Of the cornerbacks in Kansas City, Ward has shown the most improvement. He defended 10 passes, had a forced fumble and two interceptions in his first full year as a starter. After the 2019 season, he ranked seventh out of all NFL cornerbacks in individual tackles with 64.
Ward may not be at the peak of his career, but he’s still a young player (24) with much more to give.
The defensive back could be an even stronger contender next season with the Chiefs on the rise as a team. The numbers show that he has significantly improved his game from previous seasons, but the Madden 21 ratings kept him at the same rating he had at Madden 20.

The NFL is a constantly evolving sphere, or perhaps more appropriately, a “bubble”. Jamar Chaney to become Chiefs training assistant
While you may not be familiar with Chaney, a quick glance at his resume will reveal why he joins the Chiefs through the program that gives minority coaching candidates the opportunity to gain experience with NFL teams.
A graduate of the state of Mississippi, of which no fewer than four current chiefs were enrolled, Chaney was recruited by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010 during the term of head coach Andy Reid. After Reid’s departure for Kansas City, Chaney spent time with the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos and oakland Raiders before retiring after the 2014 season.
He then became the soccer coach of St. Lucie West Centennial High School in Florida, his alma mater, before returning to the state of Mississippi in 2019, where he now serves as Assistant Director of Player Personnel with the coach at Bulldogs boss Mike Leach.
Last season, 171 people received NFL coaching experience through the program, including six with Kansas City: former Chiefs linebacker Shawn Barber, Jarrod James, Skylor Magee, Lawal McCray, Denarius McGhee and former San Diego.
