Black Lives Matter protester is hit in the face by a professional Back the Blue protester as the two sides clashed in Brooklyn
- A pro-police protester was seen beating the woman on video on Sunday.
- He was chased by Black Lives Matter protesters after the attack.
- They urged the police to arrest him, but the New York police were seen forming a protective barrier.
- The woman who was attacked said, “I was hit in the face by a white supremacist … trying to protect his mother.”
- Previously they had seen her talking to the older woman and placing her body between the woman and the others.
- The shocking incident took place as part of a weekend of Back the Blue protests
A Back the Blue protester was caught on camera hitting a woman in the face as she formed a barrier around her mother during a pro-police rally in Brooklyn on Sunday.
Video footage shows a crowd of people surrounding an older woman standing against a fence in the Bay Ridge neighborhood, but it is unclear who they are separating her from.
The man then reaches for several heads to hit one of those people with his clenched fist before it falls to the ground, although his fall is interrupted by two women who catch her.
After the woman was attacked, the assailant apparently waits to see if there will be any retaliation.

The pro-police protester is seen to be removed from an angry group after hitting the woman in the face. He is not handcuffed. “I was hit in the face by a white supremacist … trying to protect his mother,” he said.
Then, several people are seen chasing the assailant and one rips off his white T-shirt as they try to stop him, but he momentarily escapes.
“He hit a woman,” people are heard screaming as commotion breaks out near where the main protest began in South Brooklyn.
Before being assaulted, the victim was seen telling the older woman to stay in her place amid the chaos, which started after a group of people from a Black Lives Matter counter-protest separated to follow a group of the main Blue Lives Matter rally that afternoon.
The pro-police movement was created in December 2014 to directly counter the July 2013 birth of the Black Lives Matter movement, which was sparked by George Zimmerman killing the unarmed black boy Trayvon Martin in Florida the year before.
“A white supremacist hit me in the face … trying to protect his mother,” the victim is heard saying after the attack.
The same woman was seen in a separate video walking screaming, “I want to know who has a weak blow.”
The violent man is seen connecting his fist to the woman’s face, prompting witnesses to pursue him.
The attacker’s friend is then seen beating people trying to defend the victim (left). The attacker is then seen after fleeing and having his white T-shirt ripped off (right).
Members of the New York Police Department protect ‘Back the Blue’ protesters from counter-protesters on Sunday after the woman was attacked
In another clip, he is apparently apologizing for hitting someone. “It wasn’t me,” the person is heard off camera saying while apologizing repeatedly.
The police caught up with the violent man, who was later seen standing next to his mother. The police took him to a police van, although he had no handcuffs.
The frustrated counter-protesters who had urged the police to arrest him reportedly blocked the police van, causing the police to clear them from the road.
As part of the two-day protests, some counter-protesters burned flags and locals who had alcoholic beverages on the scene questioned Black Lives Matter protesters.
A Black Lives Matter protester was also previously criticized in the counter-demonstration and appeared to be handcuffed by New York police.
The New York Police Department, which has come under fire after several officers were seen using excessive force against protesters in the days and weeks after George Floyd’s death, cut its budget by $ 1 billion.
The city council’s decision has sparked warnings from law enforcement circles that smaller police budgets will lead to fewer officers on the street and an increase in violent crime.
Since then, they have been reporting higher rates of violent crime.
