Juice WRLD may be gone, but the deceased rapper still has more new music to come. Blink-182’s Travis Barker revealed in an interview with MTV on July 17 that the band has a collaboration with rapper “Lucid Dreams” on the way.
While discussing dream collaborations with his protégé jxdn (born Jaden Hossler), the drummer shared that “he’s been spoiled” when it comes to working with artists he admires. “The one I always wanted impossible to have is Prince,” Barker admitted.
Jxdn, who signed with the producer’s DTA Records, stepped in to say that Juice WRLD was the collaboration of his dreams, and that he would also like to work with Justin Bieber.
“There is a Blink-Juice collaboration that has yet to come out, but is about to,” Barker casually dropped after praising Bieber’s drumming ability. “I think it will come out on a Blink project as well as a Andrew Watt solo project.”
“He didn’t make the last album,” added the Blink-182 drummer about the collaboration with the late artist. “I am thankful that more Juice music will be released.”
The drummer-producer mentioned above to Billboard before the launch of the band’s launch in September 2019 of Nine, who had been working on a song for Juice WRLD, and which eventually became a Blink song.
“There is a song we refer to as ‘Paris’ that is truly amazing,” he shared at the time. “Actually, it was a rhythm I did for Juice WRLD and before I went into the studio with it, I played it randomly, and Mark [Hoppus] He said, “Oh, what are you working on?” They were like, “Whoa, we really like this.” And it turned into a Blink song. It’s probably our favorite right now. “
Barker, who is no stranger when it comes to working with rappers, also told MTV that the band also has a new tune called “Quarantine” that is coming “very, very soon.” As for when a new album might come, he added: “We are wrapping up what I think will be an EP. Hopefully it will come out in late summer.”
Juice WRLD’s posthumous album, Legends never die, was released on July 10. It included the single “Life’s a Mess,” which features Halsey.
The rapper died at age 21 in December 2019 after suffering a seizure at Chicago Midway Airport after a flight from Los Angeles. The coroner ruled that his cause of death was oxycodone and codeine toxicity, noting that the death was accidental.
