Of course, the two dated IRL, and the day Blake Lively and Penn Badgley broke up was the day I stopped believing in love.
On a recent memory lane trip, in true Dan Humphrey fashion, Penn revealed to his GG co-star Chace Crawford, in an interview for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, which Blake, like her on-screen character, gave her an expensive gift she didn’t want.
In Season 1, Serena tried to give Dan a $ 20,000 watch, which she didn’t accept because they were, you know, 20 racks.
Well, apparently during that same season, Blake bought Penn an iPhone, the iPhone 1, even before they were great!
But Penn’s reaction to obtaining it can only be described as Dan Humphrey’s beak:

I remember back in ’07, all I wanted was an iPhone. But unfortunately maybe Penn was good with just an old phone?
