Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC will most likely have one Modern warfare most controversial features. To balance this out, a new report has surfaced with some great news about the multiplayer of the new Black Ops match. As you may know, last year Call of Duty Modern Warfare introduced cross-play to the series, allowing PC, Xbox One, and PS4 players to play together, regardless of platform. It was a long overdue feature and a popular one. So, maybe it’s not very surprising to hear that it’s coming back.
The report comes way from Call of Duty insider ModernWarzone, which does not say much about the feature, but notes that it is back and is implemented just as it was in Modern warfare. If this is true, then it is safe to assume that crossplay will be a major step forward, although it will be interesting to see how it is handled with PS5 and Xbox Series X. You would assume that it will not change anything but with the competition between Xbox and PlayStation Heat back up, you never know.
As you may know, this is not the first detail we’ve heard about the game’s multiplayer. Yesterday it was reported that skillful matchmaking is back. Meanwhile, the first and second multiplayer maps of the game are also apparently revealed.
That said, other than that we do not know much about the game. Furthermore, it is important to remember that there is no official word of cross-play returned. So, now take this piece with a grain of salt.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to be fully public on August 27th. It is currently expected that this holiday season will sometimes be released via the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
