Shocking video shows a bison dragging and beating a woman in a South Dakota state park after she allegedly got too close to a calf because thousands traveled after a year for an annual motor rally, according to multiple reports.
Footage of Wednesday’s attack, taken prisoner by witness Jo Reed, shows the bison taking the woman by the hand and dragging her across the street in the grass.
The animal continues to shake the woman violently and spit as other cyclists look in horror, the video shows. The animal tore off her pants before walking, as spectators described the woman as unconscious.
An estimated 500 bison blocked the driveway in Custer State Park during their annual migration when the motorcyclist “came too close,” the Custer County Chronicle reported.

Reed later wrote on Facebook that herds of bison “were everywhere we went,” and turned out to be “frisky” and “punchy with each other.”
“We came around a curve just behind a group of motorcyclists and there was a herd in the middle of the road, most noticeably a cow (female) and her calf that was nursing,” Reed wrote. “Initially, one woman got off her bike and approached the herd and then followed more. It was an exciting moment. ”
