Former President Bill Clinton was once named a rock star at the Democratic National Convention, but in the midst of the #MeToo era, his presence among speakers this year has created a virtual elephant in the room.
Clinton’s vicious remarks about President Trump were exaggerated Tuesday because critics pointed to his past controversies, including his extramarital affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, allegations of sexual abuse and assault, and his past ties to deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“Bill Clinton is just an enormously unforeseen mistake. Totally unnecessary and a very bad appearance by 2020,” tweeted CNN host SE Cupp.
“Does the ghost of Epstein speak to Bill Clinton?” progressive commentator Kyle Kulinski asked funny.

“Interesting choice because Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s friend Bill Clinton are talking to the DNC, while the rest of the party calls Trump a rape,” TV host Hasan Piker tweeted.

Journalist Phillip Bailey pointed out how Clinton “5x” got more speaking time than rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., who despite her popularity in the Democratic Party was taken 60 seconds on the air.

Federalist culture editor Emily Jashinsky responded to Clinton’s criticism of Trump when the former president said, “At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center. Instead, it is a storm center. There is only chaos. “

Even the satirical newspaper The Onion had some fun at the expense of Clinton, by donating the headline “Cat-Eared, Pink-Haired Bill Clinton Exhorts DNC Viewers for Access to Uncensored Version of Speech.”
