GM Brandon B expressed real concern this past January that Milano would like to increase their value in the open market and knew that keeping them on their roster could prove difficult. But imagine that in order to clean Buffalo’s front office caps room, it is necessary to put the crucial playmaking element of their next seven on the roster.
“He’s a very good defensive player and you always want to keep as much as you like,” Bean said last January. “He’s done a lot of work since he came here in 2017 to improve.”
Milano has worked with LB Tremine Edmunds as the bottom linebackers in Buffalo’s defense for the last three seasons, a unit that has had a nickel defense of 0% of the time this past season.
“Man it makes a difference,” Billo told defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier this past season. “He did a tremendous job for us and his presence is felt on the field. Whether we put him under pressure or he’s in coverage, he’s an important part of our success on defense.”
And that important part will continue to play into Buffalo’s defense as his new contract runs into the 2024 season.
