Big Ten should ask for an apology from Nebraska

The Big Ten became the first of the Power 5 conference to end their football season on Tuesday, and member school University of Nebraska announced its opposition to the decision.

Head football coach Scott Frost and athletic director Bill Moos went so far as to suggest that the team could try to compete in another conference, although only three of the Power 5 conferences remain after the Pac-12 followed suit with the Big Ten. On Wednesday, however, the Big 12 announced their intention to play this fall, while the ACC and SEC have not changed their plans.

Despite having potential options, it is likely that Nebraska officials will do nothing at the expense of losing a lucrative Big Ten membership.

Despite that, according to ESPN’s Desmond Howard, Nebraska has already dug its grave.

‘You think they’re the only team that really wants to play? Of course not, “Howard said on Wednesday morning on ESPN’s ‘Get Up.’ this point would require an apology from the Chancellor and the President and Scott Frost.

‘And not one behind closed doors – a public apology. Or, if I am [Big Ten Commissioner] Kevin Warren at the moment, I’m working on a way to get her ass out of the Big Ten. ”

Warren dismissed Nebraska’s comments as simply passionate.

“We have 14 schools in the Big Ten conference,” he told ESPN. “I appreciate the passion of all our schools. I did not expect all our coaches to be ecstatic that the decision was made, so I understand that they are passionate. … My expectation is that if you are in a conference, you may not be able to attend a conference and be independent. That’s where we are. I expect our 14 members to move forward together. ”
