Jim Parsons has opened up about his decision to stop loving sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
In the role of a total of 12 seasons, the series presented Parsons in the role of Sheldon Cooper, for which he won several awards, including four Emmys and one Golden Globe.

“It was a complicated road as you can imagine,” he began. “In retrospect, it happened right before my eyes. We went through the 11th season and that summer I went to New York to do Boys in the Band on Broadway. “
Parsons went out of his way to explain how his overwhelming scheme – the piece mixed with Big Bang rehearsals and a commercial project – causing him to ‘exhaust’.
“I was really overwhelmed about, more than anything, one of our dogs was really run over at the end of his life then,” he said.
Unfortunately, his pet had a “really bad attachment”, which meant that Jim and his husband Todd had to make the difficult decision to put their dog to sleep.
“As you can tell, it really surprised me. Still,” he told David.

“I was so beaten. I ran out for curtain call [on Boys in the Band] and I slipped and I broke my foot. It was the worst moment for the next few days because I felt like I was on the edge of a cliff, “he added.
“I woke up and I saw something really dark under the dog’s death. The final rule was that it was a very intense summer. The dog died, he was 14, and Todd and I were 15 years together. That point, so it was just the end of an era.
“I had this moment of clarity that I think you’re very lucky to come across in a lot of ways, from going, ‘Don’t keep going. You know?’ Take this time to look around. ‘And I did.’
Meanwhile, the star’s father had died at the age of 52, and with Parsons wrapping season 12 of Big Bang at 46 this made him think about the future from a broader perspective.
“If you told me I, like my father, had six years left to live, I think there are other things I should try and do,” he said.
“I do not even know what they are, but I can tell you that I should try.”
