PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The president of the Big Burrito Restaurant Group announced Sunday that all of its specialty restaurants would be temporarily closed due to current restrictions on their establishments.
The Big Burrito Restaurant Group oversees Alta Via, Casbah, Eleven, Kaya, Soba and Umi specialty restaurants. The closings went into effect yesterday, according to group president Bill Fuller.
“We cannot operate in a limited 25% occupancy that has been established for the indefinite future,” Fuller said in a press release. “We will continually evaluate how to re-open some or all specialty restaurants safely and sustainably at some point in the future, in accordance with the above standards. We look forward to reopening and operating all locations again. We sincerely thank our customers for their support and look forward to welcoming them. ”
The group, which also oversees Mad Mex, did not include Mad Mex in the restaurants that would close.
