‘Big Brother’ players under fire for likely pre-emptive alliances formed

Big Brother 22 – the second All-Stars season – kicks off on Wednesday night. Of course, it would not be a season of Big Brother without a bit of drama. As it turns out, this season’s main problem is actually related to some weird pre-gaming that happened before the game itself started.

In the days and weeks before Big Brother 22 premiere, courts circulated on social media about an alleged group chat involving players. The rumors suggested that the cast members were strategizing and voting before the season even began. When the season premiered and the live feeds depicting the households began 24/7, viewers wondered if the truth was true to the rumors. The specualtion went up when competitors like Cody Calafiore, Nicole Franzel, Dani Briones, Memphis Garrett and others had strong ties for days out of the season. Josh Martinez, who won Big Brother 19 and was rumored to be on Season 22, even opening up on Twitter about some of the pre-gaming he did with several of the contestants who are on the season, such as Tyler Crispen, Christmas Abbott and Da ‘Vonne Rogers. (Since this is an All-Stars season, many of the show’s contestants have met and even competed against each other in a previous season, which means that expected relationships between contestants are to be expected.)

While there do not appear to be any explicit rules against pre-gaming, fans are not happy to hear that alliances can be formed before the season itself begins. These rumors have already drawn a lot of ire from both fans and former competitors, with some saying that pre-gaming ruins the integrity of the game.
