Biffy Clyro Blast in Lead on Midweek UK Albums Chart

Biffy Clyro is not performing yet, but the veteran rockers are charging up for a third No.1 album in the UK

Biffy’s A celebration of endings (Warner Records) leads the official Chart Update, and is currently combining the rest of the Top 5, reports the OCC.

A celebration of endings swallows most physical and download sales at midweek point and is on course to equal the No. 1 positions of its 2013 LP Opposition and 2016s Ellipsis.

Party leads a brand new Top 4 at the halfway point, as indie rock outfit Sea Girls’ debut Open your head (Polydor) opens at no. 2; Manic Street Preacher James Dean Bradfield is at no. May 3 Even in exile (Montyray), his first solo studio album in 14 years; and English folk-rock veterans Levellers mark their return with Peace (On The Fiddle) on no. 4, her first LP in eight years.

After three weeks at no. 1, Taylor Swift’s Folklore (EMI) is looking forward to losing its crown. It slides to no. 5 on the Midweek Chart.

Meanwhile, new releases by British folk artist Kate Rusby (Hand Me Down at no. 6 via Pure), Nigerian rapper and singer-songwriter Burna Boy (Twice as long at no. 8 via Atlantic Ocean), and Rumer (Nashville Tears at no. 9 via Cooking Vinyl) are ready for Top 10 berths.

Joel Corry and MNEK’s summer hit “Head & Heart” (Asylum / Perfect Havoc) continues in the singles Chart race with their march to a fifth week at no. 1, ahead of Nathan Dawe with KSI’s “Lighter” (Atlantic) and the Cardi B-Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “WAP,” respectively.

Finally, Drake laughs all the way to what should be the highest debut of the week. Canadian rapper ‘Laugh Now Cry’ (OVO / Republic Records), a collaboration with Chicago hip-hop artist Lil Dirk, is on no. 4 on the map blast.
