Lewis died in mid-July after battling pancreatic cancer. The lawmaker and civil rights legend were also honored with a final horse-drawn carriage ride over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, on Saturday, in remembrance of the former activist’s march in 1965 on the bridge that ended with Lewis and others being savagely beaten by police.
