Biden inches ahead in Georgia

Biden led President Trump overnight in Georgia as the vote count continues there and in other crucial swing states such as Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina.

Biden added 1,602 votes and Mr. Trump 223, leaving Biden with a significant lead of 917 votes across the state, according to Georgia’s Clayton County election statistics, which eventually became part of the congressional district of civil rights icon John Lewis.

The race for the presidency is very close to inviting.

CBS News’ projects bid has garnered 253 votes so far – 17 out of 270 embarrassing to win the presidency. Mr. Trump has won 213.

Mr. Trump spoke Thursday evening and claimed a false victory. He also made baseless allegations that his political enemies stole elections from him.

“I would win easily if you counted the legal votes,” the president falsely claimed. “If you count the illegal votes, they may try to steal the election from us. If you count the votes received late, we are looking at them very loudly.”

CBS News is still considering tussle-ups in Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, while Biden in Nevada and Arizona is expected to go.

Mr. Trump looked to the nation’s courts outside the ballot box in his bid for the presidency, his campaign bringing the barrage of lawsuits into many states of war.
