Biden hits ‘Keep America Great’ domain in the latest act of Trump trolling

Trump thought last year about adopting the slogan “Keep America Great.”

“How do you give up the greatest theme of all time with a new theme?” Trump said last year about switching from “Make America Great Again” to “Keep America Great.” “If I lose, people will say what a mistake that was. But we will not lose, so it will not matter. ”

Then the coronavirus struck, the economy collapsed and racial strife gripped the country. Amid the crisis earlier this summer, the Trump campaign played with another rebranding. But “Keep America Great” hats are still selling for $ 25 per doll.

“You can buy any domain name you want, but Joe Biden can never buy a way out of his 47 years’ failure in elected office,” said Trump campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley in response to the domain purchase.

Team Trump had previously drawn something similar to Biden, and bought the domain todosconbiden.com when Biden announced its Latino outreach program, titled “Todos Con Biden.”

The domain game was the Democrats’ last attempt at counter-programming during the GOP event. Tonight will be Biden air an ad of two minutes prior to convention programming featuring a not-so-covered clip of Trump struggling to walk a slope, followed by scenes of a lively Biden riding and jogging stairs. It will run on all major networks and over the weekend in battlefield states.

The Biden campaign kicked off the week with the announcement of “Republicans for Biden,” a group led by Jeff Flake and featuring more than two dozen former members of Congress. The campaign rolls out a series of Republican recommendations this week, including Justice Department and ethics appointments, including former staff for the late Senator John McCain, 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and former President George W. Bush.
