Biden Campaign Advisor Dismisses Trump’s Attack on Hunter as a Tired Conspiracy Theory


The latest ad from the Trump campaign, which was published on Thursday, focuses on a 2013 trip that took the Bidens to Beijing and featured clips of Joe Biden promoting Chinese development. It accuses Hunter Biden of using his father’s position to obtain advantageous financial deals. Trump called on China last year to investigate Hunter Biden.

The Bidens have repeatedly denied crimes associated with the trip. Sanders called the accusations “contemptible” and “nothing but blatant lies.”

“It’s a collusion theory that was eaten up by Rudy Giuliani,” Sanders said.

Trump’s allies have long gone after Hunter Biden, and also accused him of abusing his father’s position for energy trading in Ukraine. Trump has urged Ukrainian officials to launch a public inquiry into Hunter Biden, which led to Trump’s impeachment last year.

Sanders said a Bid White House would have barriers to ensure no family member benefits from his office. She said none of Biden’s children in his administration would serve in an indirect jab for Trump, whose daughter Ivanka and sister-in-law, Jared Kushner, serve as senior White House advisers.

“A Biden administration will uphold the policy that the Obama-Biden administration has because it is related to ensuring that we do not cross any lines here,” Sanders said. “There was a very high ethics bar in the Obama-Bid White House.
