Joe Biden’s strong condemnation of the continuing violence as a result of civil unrest in cities across the country came amid a storm of headlines urging the Democratic candidate to tackle the problem.
In a video message shared on Wednesday, the former vice president denied the violence while still expressing his support for peaceful protest.

“You know, like I said after the murder of George Floyd, protesting brutality is a right and absolutely necessary,” Biden said. “But burning communities is not a protest – it is unnecessary violence, violence that endangers lives, violence that attracts businesses and shuts down businesses that serve the community. That is wrong.”
When speakers on the first two nights of the Republican National Convention hammered Biden and Democrats to not tackle the violence sooner, especially at last week’s Democratic National Convention, several outlets gave direct warnings to the Biden- campaign that the perceived silence of its candidate will benefit President Trump. ,
