The CD project has come under fire for reversing the decision to introduce the horror game Bhakti on GOG.com.
Devotional developer, Red Candle Games, tweeted earlier today that its game will hit GOG on December 18, with a link to the store page, which has now been pulled.

Devotion is considered one of the best horror games of the last decade, but it has proved to be a controversial one. After its publication in the spring of 2019, devotional references to Chinese President Xi Jinping were found in the devotion. The discovery sparked outrage among Chinese players, leading to the withdrawal of Chinese distributors, the closure of the Red Candle account on Weibo, one of China’s largest social media platforms, and the removal of the game from Steam in China.
The red candle, which is based in Taiwan, has apologized for accidentally transferring it to a final release for which it was a placeholder asset. These comments weren’t enough to stop the reaction, though, and a week after the sale, the developer pulled the game off Steam in all regions to make an indefinite fix. He never returned.
In a tweet announcing Hardik’s dramatic change, G.O.G. Said: “After receiving many messages from gamers, we have decided not to list the game in our store.”
Earlier today, it was announced that the game Devotion is coming to GOG. After receiving many messages from gamers, we have decided not to list the game in our store.

Eurogamer asked GOG for an explanation. Has said. We have also asked Red Candle for a statement.
Already, the CD project is suffering a backlash to the move, with many suggesting the company is working hard to avoid an outcry in China.
There is no way you are throwing it at the store because of the rumor mill. They just might choose not to buy that game. Who cares if a game they don’t want to play is just on the platform?
You don’t just want a platform pulled from China.

CDPR: Highlights the game of fighting government and corporate tyranny
CDPR also pulls the game from GeoG within hours of the announcement after pressure from “gamers”, who “do not want to lose the Chinese market so we lean towards censorship” https: // t .co / 3Te6DlVW1h

It is the latest controversial decision of the CD project, which has proved the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 to be one of the most controversial blockbuster releases ever.
