Bettor was able to win $ 1.2 million on Bengals wager

The Cincinnati Bengals were the worst team in the NFL last season. They got the top pick in the concept, and they deserved it.

One bettor in Las Vegas was undeterred.

interesting and possibly lucrative bet on the Bengals. He or she placed $ 5,000 on the Bengals around the no. 1 seed to be in the AFC. “Data-reactid =” 22 “> BetMGM said Sunday morning that a bettor in Las Vegas entered interesting and possibly lucrative bet on the Bengals. He or she placed $ 5,000 on the Bengals to be the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

It would pay $ 1.2 million.

Bengals have 240-to-1 odds of being the top seed of the AFC

There are endless ways to bet the NFL season on future bets on BetMGM, and the Bengals bet is unique.

If the Bengals get the No. 1 seed in the AFC, it pays a cool 240-on-1 on that bet. The Bengals have not been so bad the past 15 years, winning division titles in 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2015. They could not win a playoff match in any of their postseason appearances under Marvin Lewis, but postseason success does not matter for the bet.

Of course, there is good reason that the Bengals are 240 to 1. They are in a stacked division. The Baltimore Ravens have the second best odds of winning the Super Bowl at +650 (the Kansas City Chiefs recently stepped forward at +600). The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to take a nice step forward with Ben Roethlisberger back. The Cleveland Browns have talent, though it hasn’t yielded much lately.

And the Bengals come out of a 2-14 season. Yet someone has hope.

Bengals need to be improved

The Bengals signed LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the first pick. If he is good, the Bengals can be much improved. There’s talent around him as Joe Mixon and receivers AJ Green and Tyler Boyd run back. Still, going all the way from 2-14 to the top seed in the AFC is a stretch, even if Burrow is immediately great.

The Bengals’ win / total win at BetMGM is just 5.5. They would probably have to win 13 or 14 games to get the top seed, given how good the Ravens and Chiefs are.

But if the Bengals have that storybook season, one bettor will be really, really happy.
