The M4A1 has been the dominant assault rifle in Modern Warfare since the game’s release, but it has recently lagged behind in Warzone for Grau 5.56. However, with a nerf lined up for the latter, we take a look at the best ways to use the M4A1 in Verdansk.
If you turn your attention to the professional Call of Duty, dominate an assault rifle: the M4A1. Its moderate recoil and high rate of fire are complemented by its incredible damage output, which has seen it establish itself as the ideal AR for almost all players.
However, Warzone and Modern Warfare are very different, and Grau’s lack of recoil has made him more favorable in Verdansk. Infinity Ward has confirmed that a nerf is coming to Grau with the Season 4 mid-season update, meaning the M4A1 will likely rule Verdansk as well.
Here are two powerful ways to run it, one designed for longer ranges and the other for safer players to control their recoil.
The best M4A1 Warzone charge for long distances
- Monolithic Suppressor
- Grenadier M16
- GI Mini Reflex
- Merc front grip
- 50 round magazines
First, in this longer range class, you’ll notice the monolithic suppressor and the Stock M16 Grenadier. These will offer a significant boost to the damage range, as well as stabilize the shots to a significant degree. The suppressor will also keep you away from enemy mini maps.
Next up is the Merc Foregrip, which will increase your recoil control and maximize your efficiency in distant shootings. This will be complemented by 50 round magazines, which allow you to take on multiple players simultaneously, without the need to stop and reload. Although you could use 60 round magazines, the weight gain is not worth the extra 10 shots.
Finally, the GI Mini Reflex is one that you can switch to for a different view, if you prefer. We are only recommending optics in this class because the M4A1’s iron sights are not ideal for long-range engagements.
The best M4A1 Warzone charge for short distances
- Monolithic Suppressor
- Custom Corvus Shooter
- FORGE TAC CQS
- Front command grip
- 50 round magazines
For this near-medium range class, the iron sights of the M4A1 will suffice. We recommend running a sniper in the back pocket for this class, to ensure you can still challenge enemies over long distances.
The monolithic suppressor and 50 round magazines remain, for the reasons mentioned above. We have traded the Stock M16 grenadier gun for the Corvus Custom Marksman, because the latter still improves range and recoil, without significant reduction in handling and mobility.
The Foregrip Command also stabilizes shooting, without the penalties incurred by the Merc Foregrip. Finally, the FORGE TAC CQS accelerates ADS, allowing you to quickly target enemies at shorter distances.
