Bengals vs Chargers score: Turnover, missed field goal only spoils Burroughs’ NFL entry

It was wild. Ten unanswered points from the visiting chargers gave them a 16-13 lead against the Bengals on Sunday. Entering the fourth quarter, trailing 13-6, Rookie Joe Reid set a 5-yard touchdown run by 46-yard kick-back teammate Rookie Joshua Kelly. Los Angeles took their first lead on Mike Budgle’s 22-yard field goal with 8:56 left. The score was set by Cincinnati’s 25-yard line with a rematch by Nick Wiggle of Mixon’s ephemerality.

Despite a superb, late-game drive by Rookie quarterback Bur Burrow, the Bengals’ comeback bid missed a 31-yard kick when Randy Bullock had seven seconds left. Burroughs, his NFL entrant, went 23-of-36 for 193 yards with a break. He was also stopped by linebacker Melvin Ingram, who was part of the Chargers defense that kept Cincinnati at just 295 total yards. Burroughs also ran for 46 yards including a 23-yard touchdown that gave the Bengals a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

After a slow start, the Chargers ’offense helped Los Angeles leave Cincinnati with a win. Quarterback Tyrode Taylor threw 208 yards, including 73 yards for Hunter Henry’s tight end. Their new backfield duo of Carly and Austin Eckler led the Chargers offense, rushing 144 yards and touching 31 carry.

The Chargers, who lost 10 one-on-one games in 2019, would also not have won for Bagley, who made three four-goal attempts in his four areas.
