Benee shares her ‘Lockdown’ Song ‘Snail’: Stream It Now

Benee’s career travels at anything but a pace of a snail. Except that the snail has a rocket attached to the shell.

The New Zealand newcomer drops “Snail,” a fun, exciting pop song she wrote after last weeks in lockdown (and spending a lot of time looking down).

The track is produced and recorded by Josh Fountain. Then she sings “I’m like a snail, you’re a boy / Kinda crazy I can not fly.”

It turns out, Benee is interested in the common garden variety. “When we were in lockdown, I was fascinated by snails,” she explains in a statement. “There was not really much to do, so I would spend a lot of time outside looking at snails and thinking about how they do their own little thing and they are all free. I just ran around with the idea of being kind of a snail and how I get out in the rain. When I sit inside hanging out of COVID, it’s kind of my lockdown song. ”

The Benee recordings are coming at speed. “Snail” comes shortly after “Night Garden” and “Lownely,” the sequel to their 2019 breakthrough “Supalonely.”

For the record, Benee and the rest of her countrymen are pulled out of the lockdown. Last Sunday, New Zealand took 100 days off without COVID-19 community transportation.
