Ben Shapiro slams Dems, media for spreading ‘foreign conspiracy theory’ about Trump undermining USPS

The accusation that President Trump is trying to falsify the U.S. Postal Service to suppress post-vote and interfere with the upcoming election is a “nothing-burger” propagated by Democrats and the mainstream media, Ben Shapiro said Monday.

“The Democrats have a theory, and their theory is that the reason Republicans do not want to fund the US Postal Service to the tune of about $ 50 billion is because they are trying to undermine the election,” “The Ben Shapiro Show “host told listeners.

“That’s just not true,” Shapiro continued. “The U.S. Postal Service has the funding, the liquidity, to reach through 2020. So no matter what funding you provide to them right now, it will not affect the election.”

Shapiro responded to what he called a “foreign conspiracy theory” among Democrats and Liberals who argued that the recent reduction in e-mail service was a deliberate move by the White House to limit the ability of Americans to vote by mail in the elections of November.

Last week, the U.S. Postal Service sent letters warning 46 states and the District of Columbia that it can not guarantee that all polled polling stations will arrive on time to be counted by election officials.

But, the suspicion turned him to shame after Trump admitted in an interview with Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo that he was desperate to give extra funding to the Postal Service because it would make post-in-vote – a process that he is opposed to – easier

“This scandal is … a complete nothing-burger,” Shapiro insists before giving, “it does not help when President Trump says stupid things … credibility gives a theory that literally has no evidence to support it. “

The Conservative commentator added, “The real problem for the post office is that their envelope is too long for these state regulations regarding when you can send your absent or email votes.”

That fact, however, “does not matter,” Shapiro continued. “The media have decided that President Trump is deliberately trying to overthrow the US Postal Service to prevent people from voting … and this has gotten a lot of currency on the left.”
