“Here,” Carson added, “we are putting everything in context of color, skin, external characteristics.”
Crews, 51, was immediately criticized Tuesday for tweeting: “If you are a child of God, you are my brother and my sister. I have a family of all races, creeds and ideologies. We must make sure that #blacklivesmatter does not become #blacklivesbetter. “
His post did not sit well with many Black Lives Matter fans who expressed disappointment at the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star and claimed that the move’s premise was not to exalt the lives of blacks over those of other races, but to call for fair and equal treatment for people of all races.
Carson told MacCallum that while “everyone would agree” that black lives matter, the movement has morphed into a “Marxism-driven organization” that “espouses things like tearing down the Western family structure model.” , and advocates the dismantling of police departments across the country.

“These are things that are antithetical to the American model and patriotism in this country,” Carson explained.
“When I open someone’s head and operate on their brain, there is nothing there that says it is a black or white or yellow or brown person,” said the former neurosurgeon.
“That is what really makes you who you are. As we divide, we allow ourselves to divide, we are destroying the very structure of our nation,” he concluded. “This is called the United States of America and this is what we should think about.”
