A storm chaser in Illinois caught the eye when severe thunderstorms shook the region Wednesday.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) said there were five reports of tornadoes across central Illinois from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, with some brief notations reported.
A storm chaser in Livingston County captured one of the storms that unfolded near Fairbury.

The video he posted showed the storm cell floating above the area, with frequent lightning strikes.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning for the area, with the possibility of dollar-sized hail.
Earlier on Wednesday, the same storm chaser was in a brief hail storm while chasing the cell.
In addition to the multiple tornadoes reported, there were also widespread flash floods.

Widespread rainfall of more than 6 inches was reported, with some areas in Peoria seeing up to 8 inches.
Several vehicles ended up stranded in Peoria due to the rapidly rising waters, WEEK-TV reported.
The storms roared through the area after a Twitter hack that impacted the NWS’s ability to tweet alerts on its verified accounts.

There may be another round of bad weather for Thursday.
Heavy to severe storms with the potential for heavy rainfall along a cold front in the central United States will develop during Thursday.

Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible as these storms develop. The cities at highest risk on Thursday include Pittsburgh and Buffalo, as well as parts of northeast Ohio.
