Bear WR Alan Robbins noted the money was not coming into the receivers

The future of Chicago Bears star receiver Alan Robinson has been up-in-the-air since last September, which was also the last time for agreement talks between the two parties.

When the Bears put a franchise tag on Robinson on March on, GM Ryan Paes was not surprised to hear about Robinson’s importance to the team after he made no real progress in signing a long-term extension.

Robinson was reluctant to sign his franchise tag, which made sense due to the lack of progress on the new contract. But after some initial hesitation, Robbins has signed his franchise tag, Ian Rapport reports.

So why the sudden change?

According to Brad Big Chicago Tribune, Robinson noticed that the huge receivers in cash at the free agency weren’t exactly tormenting. So why not take a pay day of $ 18 million and wait another year to succeed in the open market.

Biggs also noted that Robinson “does not believe that agreeing with the tag affects his profitability for a multi-year deal.”

The Biggs don’t expect this to be a “tag and trade” scenario, as Pace and head coach Matt Nagy met with free-agent wide-ranging Kenny Golade on Wednesday night, exploring his options on the receiver position.
