Baylor-Louisiana’s tech season opener postponed

WACO, Texas – The scheduled football season opener between Baylor and Louisiana Tech has been postponed, and that’s September. Will not be played on the 12th. Baylor and LA Tech have agreed to monitor dates throughout the season to potentially make the game.

“We are extremely disappointed to announce the postponement of our next football .l game against Louisiana Tech,” said Mack B., director of athletics. “However, in the interest of the health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and staff, we are confident in this unfortunate but necessary step.

“We’re clearly very disappointed that we won’t be able to open the season at Baylor this weekend,” said Louisiana, director of athletics Tommy McClelland. “However, with the recent positive COVID19 results and the number of contact tracing, that is not possible. We will put our student-athletes at risk.

“It’s clear that the impact of Hurricane Laura on our community a few weeks ago has significantly increased our numbers. 95 percent of our city lost power for days – even in many areas for a week – our student-athletes were forced to find places to live. Was and some even had a family in South Louisiana to live with their family. So many things that we can control for the month of August are out of our control, and I think the numbers prove that it’s his toll Took

“Until the days of this outbreak, we had only one positive case for three weeks. So the protocol we kept was working before Hurricane Laura.”

As additional information is released, the original ticket holders will be notified by email at the email address of the adjusted game dates and time file.
