Bayern Munich will play Sevilla in the 2020 UEFA Supercup

On Sunday, Bayern Munich completed the club’s second third discussion when Kingsley Coman won home the winning goal to defeat Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Now, because of that successful mission, the Bavarians have now qualified for the biggest prize of them all.

That’s right: it’s time for the UEFA Supercup.

Bayern have earned the right to play for UEFA’s most prestigious award against this year’s Europa League winners. If what feels like an annual event today, Sevilla is the club that won the UEL this year, of course.

The match is currently scheduled to take place on September 24 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary. Later last week it was announced that UEFA was considering allowing a small number of fans to enter the stadium as a test drive.

Bayern will be looking for their second win in the league, having last won back in 2013. The Bavarians are tied for the second most losses in the Supercup with three (1975, 1976, 2001).

(Of course, the UEFA Supercup does not really matter; it is a trophy, however, and Bayern Munich is all about winning trophies.)
