Basketball rumors from Max Christie to Michigan State have serious legs

What started as a small smoke about Max Christie’s trend towards Michigan state basketball seems to have serious legs.

A few weeks ago, we talked about the fact that Max Christie, from the state of Michigan, was winning something serious. The Spartans had a boost in their recruitment, and that has not changed.

In reality, those rumors seem to be increasing and becoming more concrete. Nothing is set in stone, but recruiting insiders seems to be getting news that Michigan State is in a very good place for Christie.

This tweet from Rivals‘Knowledgeable Justin Thind basically summed up the rumors that they now have serious legs.

While there is a belief that this could be about Jaden Akins (Eric Bossi believes it is a block to MSU), Tuesday afternoon’s talk was Christie. It just made sense and you could be feeling the pressure to soon engage with Emoni Bates potentially taking one of the Spartans’ vacant places in the 2021 class, assuming you reclassify.

Different sources echoed the same sentiments about Christie’s tendency toward Spartans.

Obviously nothing is set in stone and we may not hear anything about Christie this week or next week or even this month, but the five-star recruit, ranked number 13 in the country, who was once considered a padlock to Duke it now seems like the state of Michigan to lose.

Tom Izzo has been doing serious work in class 2021.

Imagine a new class of Christie, Bates, Akins, and Pierre Brooks. That surely rivals the class of 2016 with Miles Bridges, Cassius Winston, Josh Langford and Nick Ward as Izzo’s best recruiting class as head coach at Michigan State.

If you’re wondering who the second part of Thind’s tweet is about, you’re talking about it being Karim Mane.

This is clearly a good time to be a Michigan state basketball fan.
