Barr calls Friday ‘development’ in Durham probe, says election investigation will not be ‘dictated’

There will be “a development” in Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the organs of the Russia investigation Friday, Attorney General William Barr told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in an exclusive interview Thursday.

Barr said the development would not be “earthquake” but would be “an indication that things are moving at the right pace, as determined by the facts in this study.”

“There are two different things happening, Sean,” Barr said. “I said the American people need to know what actually happened, we need to get the story of what happened in 2016 and ’17. That will be done.

“The second aspect of this is, if people cross the line, if people who were involved in that activity broke the criminal law, they will be prosecuted. And John Durham is an independent man, very experienced, and his investigation is purposeful. There has been some delay due to COVID, but I am satisfied with the progress and I have said that there will be elections, important developments.

“But we are not doing this on the election schedule,” Barr added. “We are aware of the elections. We will not do anything unnecessary for the elections. But we are not dictated by this scheme.
