Bannon Joked in 2019 About ‘Build the Wall’ Founder Stealing Funds to Buy Luxury Boat

Just over a year before his arrest on Thursday for fraud, former Trump campaign chief Steve Bannon apparently admitted his fraudulent activity “We Build the Wall” in a joke during a live stream of YouTube last year. “We are off the coast of Saint-Tropez in the south of France, in the Mediterranean Sea,” Bannon said on June 24, 2019, during a live-streaming event near the U.S.-Mexico border. The recordings were discovered Friday by Media Matters. “We’re on Brian Kolfage’s million-dollar hunt, and uh, Brian Kolfage, he got all that money from Build the Wall,” he replied when Kolfage, sitting next to him, smiled uncomfortably.

While Bannon played the line as a joke, according to the feds, Kolfage – the triple-amputee veterinarian who set up the privately-funded border wall project – used some of the $ 25 million he raised to raise a “lavish lifestyle,” including the purchase of a 40-foot name Warfighter.
