Owings Mills, Mo. – Quarterback Lamar Jackson said a day after the defense was calling for the Baltimore Ravens to play, with offensive co-ordinator Greg Roman leading him to a normal chess match during the games.
“Calling plays on defense is nothing new,” Rome said Thursday. “They will come true sometimes [and] They are going wrong sometimes. I think we know that. But that’s definitely an element of the game. It has always been and probably always will be. “
The Ravens offense has been in the midst of a significant drop-of-fun since last season, dropping from No. 2 per game in 2019 to No. 23 at the midpoint of the 2020 season. On Wednesday, Jackson told “The Rich Eyes Show” that Baltimore is very predictable about crime, saying, “They’re calling our plays, this kind of stuff. They know what we’re doing.”
Asked about the reigning NFL MVP’s comments, Romain responded with a two-minute response that began with how Jackson is a great competitor who wants to win every game and every game.
“When people call something and what doesn’t, it definitely responds to me,” Rome said. “That’s definitely the part we’re going to talk about.”
Is Jackson allowed to listen when defenders hear plays being played?
“There are definitely some plays where these aud doubles are available and built in,” Romain said. “Some quarterbacks can be heard or have the freedom to listen to every play. Sometimes it works well for them, sometimes it doesn’t. Some people don’t. I would say we’re somewhere in between.”
Ravens ’struggles cannot be blamed on all plaques. Injuries have hit the offensive line, with left-hander Ronnie Stanley and right-back tire Phillips – on the injured reserve. This comes after Pro Bowl right guard Marshal Yanda Se Fasen retired. Plus, Jackson has been more unpredictable this season (26 percent of the finish) and all the drops in eight games (nine) this year in Baltimore’s wide receivers were like last season (10).
Still, there is growing frustration within the Baltimore offense this season. Nov. After the Ravens lost 28-24 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on the 1st, giant receiver Marquis “Hollywood” Brown tweeted that he was not using enough in the passing game. Now Jackson has revealed that the Baltimore crime is being committed knowingly.
“We’re very aware of our instincts,” Romain said. “We know there are some now, and that’s what makes it interesting. When you’re good at something and you can keep pressing that button, then you have a chance to move the script forward.”
